SIMATIC PCS 7 stations are supplied without a keyboard. This applies to SIMATIC PCS 7 Industrial Workstations, SIMATIC PCS 7 compact systems as well as PCS 7 OS Clients based on SIMATIC BOX and Microbox PC.
An industrial grade SIMATIC PC keyboard without special functions (German/international key assignment) is offered as the standard keyboard for these SIMATIC PCS 7 system components; see ST PCS 7 Catalog, section "Industrial Workstation/IPC, expansion components".
Fast access to important function via configurable keys is often desirable for the optimization of process management. Typical for the use of such function keys are functions such as:
- Selecting specific process screens
- Selecting and acknowledging alarms and messages
- Increasing and decreasing control variables
- Sequential control
