Standard as well as safety-relevant tasks can be performed with only one CPU. Multiprocessor operation is also possible.
Distributed expansion of the S7-400 F CPUs is possible with the safety-oriented ET 200S, ET 200M and ET 200pro I/Os (IP67) or the safety-oriented ET 200eco block I/Os (IP67).
The F modules can be connected through the integrated interfaces or using communications processors (CPs).
